CIIA is conducting classes for basic estimating & collision repair training
CIIA alias Collision Industry Information Assistance is conducting new training classes from May 2016. CIIA is going to provide both its basic estimating collision repair training course and its Certificate of Qualification prep course in Cambridge and London, Ontario.
The basic estimating course is intended for shop or office employees, new estimators and insurance company staff to make estimate toward collision damage on cars and light trucks in Ontario.
The training will continue for 2 days and focuses on fundamentals of estimating, awareness on vehicle construction, basics of estimate writing, gathering knowledge on collision manuals, supplementary charges and collision damage analysis.
Classes will commence from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The London course will be held at Fanshawe College on May 6 and 7 whereas the Cambridge course will start on May 20 and 21. The entrance fee is $550, plus HST, each person for CIIA members and $750, plus HST, each person, for non-members. To participate in the classes, everybody has to make advance payment.
CIIA has also arranged a new class for the sake of unlicensed techs so that they can perform well in Ontario's provincial trades license exam. The prep courses will be organized in both London and Cambridge and last nine nights, with classes held Monday and Wednesday night. The London class starts on May 9. Classes in Cambridge will start from May 24. No classes will be arranged on Victoria Day, on May 23.
The course fee is $1,000, plus HST, for non-members of CIIA and $800, plus HST, for CIIA members.
CIIA is also conducting a free Technician Equivalency package with the intention of assisting the people who have the required hours of work experience, but don't have any formal apprentice training. Employers may get a reduction of 2/3rd of the cost of either or both of these courses.
