While selecting a project, construction companies are always asking for bid proposals from various contractors. A bid proposal is very vital for any construction companies to obtain the best price, technical content, and commercial consideration. The contractors who offer the best quotes, will be awarded the project. So, in order to find out the winning bidder, the construction companies give importance on the following criteria:-

Prequalification: The interested companies who like to undertake the project should provide the technical competence and financial feasibility. The intention is to restrict the field of applicants to those that fulfill the least prerequisites for taking part in a competitive bidding process.

Assessment of Technical Proposals: The Bidders should have to present the technical proposals providing brief details on how they could complete the contract as well as giving supplementary information regarding their financial and technical aptitude.

Financial Resources: The bidder should possess sound & sufficient financial resources to accomplish the contract as well as having the capability to get the contract.

Performance Schedule: The bidder should have the ability to adhere to the performance schedule, required or proposed delivery and well versed with all accessible commercial and governmental business commitments.

Performance Record: The bidder should contain a suitable performance record, if any. Without a proper performance record, it becomes difficult to hold a potential contractor totally liable or irresponsible apart from once specified in a standard for special acquisitions.

Integrity and Ethics: The bidder should contain a valid record of integrity and business principles along with suitable conformity with laws concerning taxes, labor and employment, environment, antitrust, and consumer protection.

Construction Machinery: The bidder should possess the essential technical equipment and facilities catering to production or construction and having the capability to acquire them.

Organization and Skills: The bidder should encompass the required organization and expertise, experience, accounting and operational controls, and technical proficiencies, as well as the capability to acquire them.

Other Qualification: The bidder should have been competent and qualified to achieve an award under relevant laws and regulations.
