NEW BUFFALO – Bids aren’t the only things being opened these days at New Buffalo Township Public Library.
Just prior to June 7 deadline for bids on the construction of its new $5 million home, the library received a $75,000 donation from Joseph Temple in memory of his late wife, Ann McFerran Temple. The fireplace area in the new facility will honor her memory.
Residents of Florida, the Temples also wanted to support their summer community in New Buffalo.
“Ann loved to read books and after I lost her, it was clear to me that support for the new library was the very best way to give to our summer community and to honor my beloved Ann,” Temple wrote with the donation.
