Engineering and Estimating - Manson Construction
Manson is currently recruiting for seasonal full-time 2014 summer interns for engineer and estimating assignments. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to rotate between the two positions working in the field as well as in the estimating office to obtain knowledge and experience in the marine construction industry.
Job Description: Field Engineer for Dredging or Construction assignments
Reporting of daily activities of a construction crew
Cost and implementation comparison of as-built construction activities to the as-bid estimates
Quantity tracking
Falsework design
Coordinate with project foremen and superintendents to write work procedures for activities.
Hydrographic surveying for dredging operations
Estimating assignments:
Quantity takeoffs
Reading job specific specifications and standard specifications
Subcontractor comparisons
Engineers estimates
Job scheduling
Falsework and Equipment Design work
Cost analysis
