Calculation of the numbers of cement bags in 1 Cum
In this civil engineering video tutorial, you will learn the method for working the numbers of cement bags in one cubic meter.
Suppose, the nominal mix is 1:2:4
2% is considered for the wastage of cement
Output of mix is taken as 66%
For 1 cum output, the quantity of dry mix will be as follow :-
1/0.66 = 1.5151 or 1.52 (approx)
After the inclusion of 2% wastage, the value will be changed to (1.52 + 0.02) = 1.54 cum
The following formula is used to work out the volume of cement :-
Volume of cement = (Cement / Cement + Sand + Aggregate) x Dry Mix
The sum of ratio = 1+2+4 = 7
The ratio of cement = 1
After putting the above value, we get the following output :-
= (1/1+2+4) x 1.54 = 0.22 cum
So, the volume of cement = 0.22 cum
We know, the density of cement = 1440 kg/cum
The weight of 1 bag cement = 50 kg
Therefore, the volume of 1 bag cement = 50/1440 = 0.0347 cum
So, required numbers of cement bags will be calculated as follow :-
Volume of cement / volume of 1 cement bag = 0.22 / 0.0347 = 6.34 bags or 6.5 bags (approx)
Therefore, the number of cement bags in one cubic meter = 6.5
