How to find out the volume of a hollow column
In this construction video tutorial, one can learn the quick process to estimate the volume of a hollow column in jobsite.
Given below, the dimension of the section plan :-
The height of the column is taken as 3 meter
Outer radius from center of the column is taken as R = 0.6 m = 600 mm
Internal radius is taken as r = 0.3 m
To determine the volume, the following formula is used :-
Volume = pR2h - pr2h
= ph (R2 ? r2) = 3.14 x 3 (0.62 ? 0.32) [ here value of p = 3.14]
= 2.543 m3
