Concrete Grades: Types And Usage
Strength and composition of the concrete defined the grades of concrete. The minimum strength should follow 28 days of initial construction. The measurement to understand the grade of concrete is MPa. Here M stands for mix and an MPa shows the overall strength.
Concrete mixer is defined in ascending order of 5. It starts at 10. The compressive strength of concrete shows after 28 days. C10 has the strength of 10 newtons, C15 has the strength of 15 newtons, C20 has 20 newtons strength.
M comes in different mix proportions of various ingredients of cement, sand and coarse aggregates. M20 comes in the respective ratio of 1:1:5:3.

Concrete Grades and their use
C10
This concrete grade is used for Patio slabs, pathways and non structural work. This is mainly used in domestic and commercial use.
C15
This concrete grade is used for pavement kerbs and floor blinding.. This is mainly used in domestic and commercial use.
C20
This concrete grade is used for domestic floors and foundations, workshop bases, garages, driveways and internal floor slabs. This is mainly used in domestic use.
C25
This concrete grade is used for all areas specially for multi purpose concrete mix and foundation. This is mainly used in domestic and commercial use.
C30
This concrete grade is used for pathways and roadways. This is mainly used in commercial use. This concrete grade is much more flexible, good weather resistant and carries heavy road traffic.
C35
This concrete grade is used in commercial structures. This is mainly used to create external walls and slabs, structural piling. This is mainly used in commercial use.
C40
This concrete grade is mainly used for commercial construction sites, to create foundations and beams for structural support and roads.
This concrete grade is most durable among others, C40 can prevent chemical erosion also. So this is used on farms, or in septic tanks. The type is Commercial.
