A concrete pad footing is the easiest and economical footing that is formed to provide support vertically to the separate column as well as transmit the building loads to the ground. This footing is "isolated" i.e. there is no connection between them. They are also reinforced.

A pad footing is circular, square or rectangular slab having uniform thickness. Occasionally, it is stepped or haunched to disperse the load over an extensive area.
