This is an exclusive demonstration on designing a single cell RCC Box Girder Bridge, by the Members of CE-14, Civil Engineering Department, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh.
By going through this construction video, one can learn how to apply both the SAP2000 V15 and CSIBridge V15.2 software to perform transverse and longitudinal study concerning a single cell box girder bridge to ascertain design moment and shear for manual calculation of flexural and shear reinforcement of the superstructure.
SAP2000 V15 is a good construction program for efficient structural analysis. CSIBridge V15.2 is very useful for steel-girder bridge design. The most updated version is CSIBridge 2016 and it can be used for integrated 3d bridge design, analysis and rating.
Usually a girder bridge refers to a bridge that uses girders to provide support for the deck. It includes three parts: the foundation (abutments and piers), the superstructure (girder, truss, or arch), and the deck. A girder bridge can extend from one side to the other across a river or creek. In modern girder steel bridges, the two widely used shapes are plate girders and box-girders.
