Quantity calculation of materials (lime & glue) for white washing

In this civil engineering tutorial, you will learn how to work out the quantity of several types of materials which are significant part of white wash. There different types materials like lime, glue and sometimes color as per choice.

The following points should be taken into consideration while doing the calculation :-

1) 2 kg white fat lime is necessary for applying white wash with single coat together with 0.06 kg glue per 10 m2 surface area.

2) 2.8 kg white fat lime is necessary for applying double coat white washing along with 0.06 kg glue per 10 m2 surface area.

3) 3.5 kg white fat lime is necessary for applying triple coat white washing along with 0.12 kg glue per 10 m2 surface area.

4) Color should be added in lump sum quantity based on the requirements.

Suppose, there is a plastered wall with length 15 meter and height 5 meter. Now, it is required to work out the quantity of lime and glue of three coats for this plastered wall.

Initially, the total surface area for white washing should be determined as follow :-

Total White Wash Area = Length x Height = 15 x 5 = 75 m2

Quantity of white unslacked lime = 3.5 kg / 10m2 x 75m2 = 26.25 kg (as we know 3.5 kg lime is required for 10m2 square meter)

Quantity of glue = 0.12 kg /10 m2 x 75m2 = 0.9 kg or 1 kg approx. (as we know 0.12 kg glue is required for 10m2 square meter)
